Job Description

Job Summary:
The primary function is to provide personal assistance services to the patient under the IDG Plan of Care, in their place of residence; to assist in providing a safe and clean environment, work cooperatively with patients and family, and share observations and problems with the supervisor.
Essential Functions:
Promote positive, supportive, respectful communication with patients/families and other employees. Maintains patient confidentiality. Provide an environment that promotes respect for patients, privacy, and property. Provides light housekeeping, laundry services, errands, and assists with meal preparation, per plan of care. Provide necessary skills to appropriately report changes to ensure continuity of care. Practice accepted infection control principles. Provide a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for the patient. Provide skills necessary to perform assigned functions according to agency policy. Contribute to the management and efficient operation of the agency and demonstrate effective time management skills. Education:
High School Diploma Preferred Licensure:
Must have current driver's license
Experience:
One year of experience in providing services to individuals needing homemaker/companion assistance, is preferred.
Skills:
Must be able to read and write in English and follow written and verbal instructions in English effectively. Demonstrates interest in the welfare of the ill and elderly. Competent to perform tasks assigned by supervisor.
Transportation:
Reliable transportation. Valid and current auto liability insurance.
Criminal History:
Must agree to and pass a criminal history check
