Caregiver - StrayDog, Inc. StrayDog, Inc. is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and hardworking Caregiver to help provide daily care and companionship to the dogs at our sanctuary. This is a hands-on position for someone who genuinely loves animals and takes pride in creating a clean, safe, comfortable, and loving environment for dogs in our care. Responsibilities Feed dogs according to established feeding schedules and instructions. Provide fresh, clean water throughout the day. Assist with food and water preparation and replenishment. Walk and exercise dogs safely and appropriately. Provide plenty of "lovin's," "skritches," attention, and companionship to our dogs. Monitor dogs for changes in behavior, appetite, energy level, or overall well-being and communicate concerns to the appropriate staff. Perform light cleaning of kennels, common areas, feeding areas, and other sanctuary spaces. Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for both dogs and staff. Follow all sanctuary procedures and safety guidelines. Treat every dog with patience, kindness, dignity, and respect. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: A genuine dog lover who enjoys spending time with animals. Reliable transportation, responsible, and punctual . Comfortable working on their feet and performing physical tasks throughout the day. Comfortable working outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions. Able to safely handle and walk dogs of different sizes and personalities. Attentive to detail and able to recognize when a dog may need additional care or attention. Comfortable working independently while also being part of a team. Willing to get dirty — this is real sanctuary work! Previous animal-care experience is helpful but not required for the right person. Students & Career Experience Welcome High school students, college students, and individuals looking to build their work experience are encouraged to apply. Working with StrayDog provides meaningful hands-on experience in animal care, responsibility, teamwork, and nonprofit operations. Experience and contributions with StrayDog can also be included on a resume, college application, scholarship application, or future job application as volunteer/community service experience or relevant animal-care experience. Schedule & Compensation Part-time or full-time opportunities available Flexible scheduling Primary care shifts are generally 6:00 AM-3:00 PM Scheduling may be available Wednesday through Tuesday , depending on sanctuary needs and candidate availability.
