This role is ideal for individuals with a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those recovering from illness. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality assistance tailored to each client's needs, promoting independence and well-being in a safe and respectful environment. This paid position offers an opportunity to utilise your caregiving skills while fostering meaningful relationships with those in your care. Responsibilities Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Provide specialised care for individuals with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other cognitive impairments Support patients with medication administration and health monitoring in accordance with care plans Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being Manage behaviour effectively through compassionate behaviour management techniques Drive clients to appointments, social outings, or errands safely and responsibly Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living environment Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation Respond promptly to emergencies by administering first aid when necessary and following safety protocols Qualifications Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care is highly desirable Knowledge of patient care practices, including dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, and senior care Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred Valid driving licence with a clean driving record is advantageous Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist clients with mobility challenges Excellent communication skills with a caring and empathetic approach Ability to manage behavioural challenges with patience and professionalism Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, or evenings as required A genuine passion for caregiving and improving the quality of life for others This role offers an enriching opportunity for compassionate individuals committed to delivering exceptional home care services.
