Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Care Attendant to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, home health, and community care, with a focus on enhancing the quality of life for residents. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference through direct support, personalized care, and fostering a safe and respectful environment. Candidates with experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes are highly encouraged to apply. All positions are paid roles committed to delivering compassionate, professional service. Duties Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques. Prepare nutritious meals aligned with care plans and dietary restrictions while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen area. Support client with medication reminders ensuring accuracy and adherence to prescribed schedules. Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering positive communication that respects residents' rights and dignity. Assist with transportation for appointments Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks and adhering to infection control protocols. Experience Candidates should demonstrate prior experience working in environments such as group homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health settings.. Familiarity with developing and implementing care plans is essential. The ideal applicant will have hands-on experience with patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts and patient personal care assistance techniques. Experience working with individuals with disabilities—including intellectual disabilities—autism spectrum disorder or developmental disabilities—is advantageous. Candidates should possess strong caregiving skills complemented by knowledge of resident's rights and HIPAA compliance standards. Certification in first aid and CPR is required or obtainable upon hire; prior experience in geriatrics or long-term care settings is beneficial.
