This vital role involves delivering personalized care that promotes independence, safety, and well-being. As an In Home Caregiver, you will be a trusted partner in helping clients maintain their quality of life through attentive caregiving, companionship, and practical support. Your enthusiasm and proactive approach will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve. Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Monitor and observe patients' health status, including vital signs and overall condition, reporting any changes to healthcare professionals promptly. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary. Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and safety. Facilitate safe patient transfers using appropriate techniques such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods, ensuring manual handling safety. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, engaging in meaningful conversations and activities to promote mental well-being. Assist with transportation needs for appointments or errands, ensuring client safety during travel. Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and home health protocols. Support clients with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, or working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities. Skills Proven experience working in home health, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes. Strong patient observation skills to detect changes in health status or behavior. Knowledge of care plans, medication administration, patient monitoring, and vital signs measurement. Ability to perform personal care assistance with sensitivity and respect for client dignity. Familiarity with equipment such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods for manual handling safety. Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders or disabilities including intellectual disabilities support. Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and documentation. Ability to handle physically demanding tasks involving heavy lifting or manual handling safely. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information. Experience providing dementia care, hospice care, geriatrics, or long-term care is highly desirable.
