Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Children's Sponsored Residential Provider to create a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will be responsible for providing personalized care that promotes the well-being, development, and stability of children in a residential setting. Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive personal care, including assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Promote age-appropriate independence, daily living skills, communication, social development, and community participation. Ensure the child's health, safety, welfare, dignity, privacy, and personal rights at all times. Provide supervision appropriate to the child's assessed support needs. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed. Administer or assist with medications as authorized and trained. Coordinate and transport individuals to medical appointments, school, therapeutic services, recreational activities, and community outings when applicable. Encourage participation in educational, recreational, cultural, and community activities chosen by the individual whenever possible. Maintain accurate documentation including daily service notes, medication records, incident reporting, appointments, and other required documentation. Communicate regularly with agency staff, case managers, families, schools, and treatment professionals. Participate in required trainings, ISP meetings, quarterly reviews, and team meetings. Immediately report incidents, emergencies, injuries, illnesses, allegations, or other reportable events according to agency policy and DBHDS regulations. Maintain confidentiality of all protected health information in accordance with HIPAA requirements. Monitor and record vital signs regularly to ensure children's health status is maintained and communicated effectively to healthcare professionals Implement behavior management strategies tailored to individual needs, especially for children with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments Assist with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional requirements are met while accommodating dietary restrictions Maintain a clean, safe, and organized residential environment by following cleaning protocols and manual handling practices Follow all safety procedures including first aid and CPR certification requirements to respond promptly during emergencies Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age . High school diploma or GED. Demonstrated ability to provide a stable, nurturing, and supportive home environment. Ability to successfully complete all required pre-service and annual training. Must pass criminal background checks, Child Protective Services (CPS) checks, and all screenings required by DBHDS and DMAS. Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance (if transporting individuals). Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before placement). Ability to maintain documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams. Experience caring for children, foster youth, individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, or special needs is preferred but not required. Must have a stable private residence (owned or leased) where the child will reside as part of the Sponsored Residential placement. The residence must meet all applicable DBHDS licensing standards, health and safety requirements, and agency approval prior to placement. Must have adequate living space, including an appropriate bedroom that complies with state licensing requirements for children and adolescents. Must be willing to participate in a comprehensive home assessment, safety inspection, and ongoing monitoring visits as required by DBHDS and the sponsoring agency. All household members must successfully complete required background screenings and meet applicable DBHDS eligibility requirements prior to approval.
