In this vital role, you'll provide personalized assistance to promote independence, dignity, and well-being. Whether working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home care settings, your support will empower residents and clients to thrive daily. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while contributing to a caring community that values your commitment. Responsibilities Assist residents and clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability Support medication administration following prescribed schedules and safety protocols Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness and promote mental wellness Help with meal preparation and feeding to ensure proper nutrition and hydration Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks and adhering to infection control standards Document care activities accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and communicate updates to healthcare teams Support residents with dementia or memory care needs through specialized behavior management techniques Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs safely during transfers Follow all safety procedures including first aid protocols and emergency response plans Skills Proven experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home & community care environments Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and recognize signs of health deterioration Familiarity with medication administration procedures and safety standards Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach to resident support Experience using EMR systems for documentation and reporting purposes Ability to handle behavioral challenges with patience and effective management strategies Valid driver's license for driving between care locations or community outings (nice-to-have) Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals Physical stamina for lifting, transferring residents using Hoyer lifts, standing for extended periods, and assisting with mobility tasks Join us in delivering exceptional personal care that enriches lives!
