Job Description
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated counselors to join LGTC's eating disorder residential facility in Los Gatos. This role is essential in providing support and guidance to our adult (18-59-year-old) clients on their journey to recovery. Milieu Counselors can become part of the client's major support system, and as such, derive great satisfaction from making a powerful difference in their lives. Counselors manage crisis situations such as food refusal, emotional breakdowns, and more. Counselors are empowered to be creative in their approach as personal strengths, skills and passions (e.g. yoga, art, hobbies…) may be integrated into our program. We are currently hiring for on-call positions, where there is no set schedule but there's a two shift a month requirement. The ability to work pick up shifts on weekends and with 48 hour notice is required. We are looking for candidates who can start on September 21 and will be offering in-person interviews. Please note that reliable transportation is required, as the commute involves driving on winding roads.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all clients
- Lead therapeutic groups for clients
- Sit meals and snacks with clients to provide support and model appropriate eating behaviors
- Prep meals and snacks, follow proper food hygiene protocols
- Cleaning as needed
- Crisis de-escalation and the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Ability to work independently
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all clients
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (psychology, sociology, social work, or other relevant fields preferred)
- Experience working with adults
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Typing and documentation proficiency
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting
- Ability to work a weekend day on a weekly basis
- Reliable transportation
Desired Qualifications:
- Background in residential treatment centers
- Spanish proficiency
- Experience in counseling or working with individuals with different mental health disorders
- Knowledge of eating disorders
- CPR/BLS certification
Skills:
- Empathy and active listening
- Crisis intervention and conflict resolution
- Knowledge of eating disorders and treatment modalities
- Organizational and time management skills

Pay:
$26.00- $28.
