Our mission is to stop domestic violence abuse for everyone through intervention, education, and advocacy . All employees of Women In Distress are considered "essential" and as such may be required to be available to remain onsite and/or required to assist during emergencies and other critical times.

Director of Housing and Community Engagement Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday, 9:00am-6:00pm with flexibility as needed to meet the needs of the department and agency. Flexibility may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Workplace Location(s) :Jim and Jan Moran Family Center, Deerfield Beach Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in social services related field with personal or work experience in Domestic Violence preferred. 2 or more years of supervisory experience and history of handling concerns in a social work setting. Bilingual skills are preferred, specifically in English, Spanish and Creole languages. Candidates must have flexibility in working hours and the willingness to work holidays as they coincide with regular shifts, and possess an acceptance and respect for cultural diversity, sexual orientation, and religious backgrounds. Ability to work independently, demonstrate good listening and emphatic skills, be able to multi-task and possess strong oral and written communication. Valid Florida driver's license, safe driving record, and proof of automobile liability insurance is required.General Job Description:
Responsible for oversight of programs related to housing and survivor health and financial well-being. Actively build and strengthen community partnerships to help expand the Housing First Program and other programs under their purview. Ensure all services provided are in line with best practice models and provide department's strategic direction.Additional requirements:
Employee will be required to take the Department of Children and Families (DCF) Core Competency training and obtain a passing grade of 75% or higher. Upon hire, candidate will be required to take the Department of Children and Families (DCF) Core Competency training and obtain a passing grade of 75% or higher.
