Job Description
Overview The Child Welfare Case Manager (CWCM) identifies and assesses service recipient and family needs of minors placed in case by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) due to abuse and/or neglect by caretakers, with the ultimate goal of permanency. To evaluate and coordinate the necessary services and/or treatment are provided; complete required assessments and case plans in a timely manner as required by Florida Statute; assist individuals and families by using such activities as delineating alternatives helping to articulate goals and providing needed information. Responsibilities Conduct thorough assessments of children's safety, well-being, and developmental needs through home visits and interviews with children, families, and collateral contacts. Develop individualized case plans that outline goals for child safety, permanency, and well-being while coordinating services such as counseling, behavioral health support, educational resources, and disability accommodations. Provide crisis intervention and conflict management to de-escalate tense situations and ensure immediate safety for children and families. Maintain detailed documentation of case activities, service plans, mandated reporting laws compliance, and client progress in case management systems. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, legal professionals, healthcare providers, and community organizations to promote holistic support strategies. Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage families effectively and encourage positive behavioral changes. Stay informed about cultural competency standards and apply them to ensure respectful and sensitive interactions with diverse populations. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services related field or four years working with children and families in a social services setting Must have a good working knowledge of computer systems and MS Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook. Must be able to pass a clearance / background check or have an exemption to work with at risks populations. Valid Florida Driver License Dependable Transportation with insurance CPR/BLS certification Certification or become certified in Child Welfare Case Manager within one year of employment. Pay:
