Responsibilities Conduct thorough assessments of clients' needs related to housing, mental health, addiction, and social services to develop personalized action plans. Assist clients in navigating complex housing assistance programs such as LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), Section 8 vouchers, and other HUD (Housing and Urban Development) regulations. Advocate for clients during negotiations with landlords and property management companies, ensuring fair housing practices are upheld. Provide crisis intervention and crisis management support to clients facing urgent needs or high-risk situations. Maintain detailed case records using property management tools like OneSite and document all client interactions accurately. Support clients with landlord-tenant law education, fair housing regulations, and understanding their rights and responsibilities. Collaborate with social services agencies, addiction counseling providers, mental health professionals, and community organizations to coordinate comprehensive care plans. Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to foster client engagement and promote behavioral change toward housing stability. Skills Strong negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively on behalf of clients. Expertise in crisis intervention and crisis management strategies for high-risk populations. Knowledge of landlord-tenant law, fair housing regulations, and HUD policies related to affordable housing programs. Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or from underserved communities; sensitivity to cultural diversity is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with property management tools such as OneSite is preferred. Ability to work effectively with individuals managing mental health conditions or substance addiction issues. Excellent client communication skills; capable of building trust and rapport quickly while maintaining professionalism. Familiarity with social work principles, case management best practices, and supportive services for vulnerable populations.
