To further this mission, Alternative House provides access to emergency shelter, supportive services, children's programming, legal advocacy, housing services, and community-based advocacy for survivors of domestic violence and their children. Job Overview The Domestic Violence Case Manager works within Alternative House's Supervised Visitation and Safe Exchange Program, which provides a safe, structured, and monitored environment for court-ordered or otherwise approved visitation and exchanges involving children and their custodial and non-custodial parties. The Case Manager is responsible for supervising visits, facilitating safe exchanges, conducting program intakes, maintaining accurate and objective documentation, communicating with participating parties, and supporting the overall safety and operation of the program. This position requires the ability to remain neutral and professional while maintaining a strong understanding of domestic violence dynamics, survivor safety, trauma-informed practices, and the impact of domestic violence on children. Schedule This is a part-time, hourly position averaging 28 hours per week.

8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Some flexibility may be required based on program needs, scheduled visits, staff coverage, trainings, or other organizational needs. Essential Job Functions The Domestic Violence Case Manager will: Supervise visits between children and non-custodial parties in accordance with Alternative House policies, program agreements, court orders, and established safety procedures. Facilitate safe exchanges of children between custodial and non-custodial parties while maintaining appropriate separation and minimizing opportunities for conflict. Monitor interactions during supervised visits and intervene when necessary to maintain child safety, program boundaries, and compliance with program expectations. Maintain a safe, structured, child-focused, and conflict-free environment for participating families. Communicate professionally with custodial and non-custodial parties regarding scheduling, program expectations, visitation concerns, and other program-related matters. Conduct separate program intakes with custodial and non-custodial parties and assist with the visitation placement and scheduling process. Review relevant court orders, program agreements, and other documentation necessary to appropriately facilitate visitation and safe exchange services. Develop appropriate and supportive relationships with children participating in the program while maintaining professional boundaries and prioritizing their comfort and safety. Maintain accurate, timely, factual, and objective documentation of supervised visits, exchanges, client contacts, incidents, and other program activities. Maintain confidential client records and protect the confidentiality and privacy of all individuals receiving services in accordance with Alternative House policies and applicable laws. Complete incident reports and promptly communicate safety concerns, policy violations, or significant incidents to the appropriate supervisor. Provide information and referrals to Alternative House programs and other community resources when appropriate. Refer survivors seeking additional support to Alternative House's community-based advocacy and other supportive services. Enter program and client data into the organization's designated data and monitoring systems in an accurate and timely manner. Assist with quarterly, annual, grant, and other program reporting and documentation as requested. Participate in case consultation, supervision, staff meetings, training, and other program-related meetings. Collaborate with Alternative House program staff to address client needs while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and program boundaries. Follow all Alternative House safety, security, confidentiality, mandated reporting, and incident response policies and procedures. Maintain professional boundaries and neutrality regarding visitation matters while recognizing and responding appropriately to domestic violence-related safety concerns. Perform other related duties as assigned to support the effective operation of the Supervised Visitation and Safe Exchange Program. Qualifications Experience working with survivors of domestic violence, children and families, supervised visitation programs, human services, or a related field strongly preferred. Understanding of domestic violence dynamics, trauma-informed services, and the impact of domestic violence on children preferred. Ability to remain calm, professional, objective, and attentive in potentially high-conflict or emotionally charged situations. Strong interpersonal, communication, observation, and documentation skills. Ability to establish and maintain appropriate professional boundaries with adults and children. Ability to follow court orders, program agreements, policies, safety protocols, and established procedures. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Basic computer skills and ability to accurately complete electronic documentation and data entry. Ability to reliably work the required evening and Saturday schedule. Bilingual/multilingual skills are valued and encouraged. Physical and Operational Requirements The position requires regular interaction with children and families and the ability to remain alert and attentive throughout supervised visits and exchanges. The employee must be able to move throughout the visitation facility, respond promptly to safety concerns, and perform routine office and program duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
