PM About Us:
Dennis W. Fox & Associates is a small, reputable law firm in downtown St. Louis specializing in Social Security Disability Benefits. We take pride in the quality of our work and the service we provide to our clients. About the
Role:
We are looking for a sharp, dependable individual to serve as the primary point of contact for our clients and to take ownership of building and preparing disability cases for hearings. This is a fast-paced position— we prepare multiple cases for hearing every week — and no two days look the same. Work is driven by incoming mail, phone calls, and deadlines, so the ability to stay organized and manage competing priorities is essential. You do not need prior legal experience. What you do need is the ability to learn quickly, take ownership of your work, and operate independently once trained. If you need to be reminded of the same thing twice, this is probably not the right fit.
What You'll Do:
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients and medical providers, managing communication professionally and proactively
  • Gather and organize medical and other evidence needed to prepare cases for hearings
  • Prepare, review, and manage case files and legal documents with a high degree of accuracy
  • Monitor and track case deadlines — missing one is not an option
  • Work closely with our attorney to ensure cases progress smoothly through the legal process
  • Learn and maintain our case management software
What We're Looking For:
This role is not for someone who needs hand-holding.
We need someone who:
  • Picks things up quickly and doesn't need the same thing explained more than once
  • Takes ownership
  • you understand that mistakes don't just affect you, and you act accordingly
  • Reviews their own work before it goes out (read the letter before you send it)
  • Asks questions when something is unclear rather than guessing — and isn't afraid to try
  • Stays organized without being reminded and tracks their own deadlines reliably
  • Shows up consistently and treats their work product as a reflection of themselves
  • Is a genuine problem-solver — you figure things out
  • Can communicate clearly and professionally, in writing and on the phone
Required Skills:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word especially), Adobe Acrobat, and PDF management
  • Solid typing speed and comfort with computer-based work
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities No prior legal experience required.
We will train the right person.

Please send your resume and a brief note telling us why this role is a good fit for you.
