B/S/S/T Area Agency on Aging, Inc. has a Protective Service Worker (PSW) opening out of our Montrose, PA office. This is a full-time position (40 hrs. a week; Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm) with benefits including health insurance, paid time off (vacation, sick, holiday, personal) and 401(k) with Agency contribution after a year of employment. We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented professional to investigate reports of abuse, neglect, financial exploitation, and self-neglect involving adults age 60 and older.

Key Responsibilities:

• Investigate allegations of abuse, neglect, financial exploitation, and self-neglect.
• Respond to emergency and crisis situations, including conducting visits in homes, hospitals, nursing facilities, and personal care homes.
• Assess consumers' capacity, functional abilities, and safety needs.
• Conduct interviews and navigate sensitive conversations with consumers, families, caregivers, and other involved parties.
• Coordinate and arrange services to address substantiated concerns and promote consumer safety.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and comply with required deadlines.

Minimum Education and Training Requirements:

• One year as an Aging Care Manager 2 or Aging Program Assessor. Or
• Bachelor's Degree which includes 12 college-level credit hours in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related social sciences. Or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college-level credits hours in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related social sciences.
