Housing Division General Description:

Case Management Support Specialist CTCOG Housing Assistance Divisions Assistant Case Manager will assist Department Case Managers with all aspects of servicing tenant needs once tenants have completed the application process and been issued their Housing Choice Voucher, taking direction from one or more Case Managers to assist them with any function required. They must be well organized and professional at all times, making certain assigned tasks are handled quickly and accurately, while showing respect and compassion at all times should they have direct contact with tenants.

Assists Case Managers and other Housing staff in a collaborative and interactive environment.

Other:

Works with Housing and other CTCOG staff, tenants, landlords, and other constituents appropriate to job responsibilities.

Examples of Work Performed:

1. Maintain orderly work and filing areas at all times so that items may be easily accessible should they be unavailable. 2. Work with Case Managers to ensure on-time processing of all tenant paperwork, recertifications, and issues that may arise in regard to tenant requirements and activities. 3. Working with Case Manager(s), make certain that all paperwork submitted and items received from tenant meet

CTCOG/HUD

requirements for timeliness and completeness. 4. Work interactively with other staff to make certain tenant needs are communicated in regard to any outstanding issues and find ways to work collaboratively to address them. 5. Maintain a professional attitude and appearance with all individuals they come in contact with, whether from internal or external audiences.

Experience and Education:

Required High School graduation or GED required Preferred Some hours towards an undergraduate degree Experience in a Public Housing Authority issuing

Housing Choice Vouchers Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong customer service and organizational skills Strong skills using MSOffice products including Word and Excel Ability to multitask and work with numerous individuals who may be assigning tasks in a fast-paced environment An understanding of and familiarity using a database program to maintain customer records and interactions Strong written and verbal communication skills A desire to interact professionally with coworkers to achieve department goals Bilingual (Spanish) abilities preferred

Certificates and Licenses Required:

Certifications from HUD or other federal governing bodies Training certification from organizations such as Nan McKay or similar

Starting Salary:

$16.00 to $21.00, based on qualifications.
