In-Person / Multiple CACHSC Locations Position Summary The MDT Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting the multidisciplinary response to allegations of child abuse involving the Children's Advocacy Center of Hidalgo and Starr Counties (CACHSC). The MDT Coordinator serves as a central point of coordination among law enforcement, Child Protective Services (CPS), prosecution, medical, mental health, victim advocacy, and other multidisciplinary partners to support a coordinated, child-centered response. This is an in-person position that requires regular presence at CACHSC facilities, MDT meetings, partner agencies, trainings, case reviews, and other work-related activities. The position requires travel between CACHSC locations and throughout Hidalgo and Starr Counties to attend MDT meetings, meet with multidisciplinary partners, provide training and technical assistance, and support case coordination activities. The MDT Coordinator monitors referrals and case activity, facilitates communication among MDT partners, coordinates MDT meetings and case reviews, supports timely case progression, maintains accurate documentation, and assists with compliance with CACHSC policies, MDT protocols, and applicable Children's Advocacy Center standards. The MDT Coordinator works closely with Forensic Interview, Family Support/Advocacy, Mental Health, Medical, CPS, law enforcement, prosecutors, and other MDT partners to identify barriers, coordinate services, and support effective multidisciplinary case management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities MDT Coordination and Case Management Coordinate the multidisciplinary response to child abuse referrals received by CACHSC and ensure cases are appropriately routed to the applicable MDT and CACHSC program. Review referrals and case information to identify cases requiring MDT coordination, staffing, follow-up, or additional partner communication. Coordinate communication among CPS, law enforcement, prosecutors, medical providers, mental health providers, victim advocates, and other MDT partners. Monitor case progression and identify outstanding needs, delays, or barriers that may affect the multidisciplinary response. Follow up with appropriate MDT partners regarding pending case information, documentation, services, or other identified needs. Assist with coordinating cases involving multiple jurisdictions or agencies. Ensure cases are appropriately assigned, tracked, and prepared for MDT review. Assist with maintaining continuity of communication throughout the investigative and service process. MDT Meetings and Case Reviews Prepare agendas, case lists, and supporting information for regularly scheduled MDT meetings. Coordinate and facilitate MDT meetings, case consultations, and special case reviews as assigned. Ensure appropriate MDT partners receive meeting information and necessary case documentation in accordance with confidentiality requirements. Document MDT discussions, recommendations, follow-up items, and other required information. Track follow-up items resulting from MDT meetings and communicate with responsible partners as appropriate. Assist with identifying cases that may benefit from additional MDT review or coordination. Support the development and maintenance of effective MDT meeting practices. MDT Partner Relations Maintain professional working relationships with MDT partner agencies and community partners. Serve as a point of contact for MDT partners regarding CACHSC procedures, case coordination, meetings, and referrals. Assist with onboarding and orientation of new MDT partners. Provide information regarding CACHSC services, referral procedures, MDT processes, and applicable protocols. Identify communication or coordination concerns between agencies and work with appropriate leadership to address them. Promote collaboration and effective information sharing among MDT partners while maintaining confidentiality and applicable legal requirements. Training and Technical Assistance Assist with planning and providing MDT orientation, partner training, and multidisciplinary enhancement activities. Provide technical assistance to MDT partners regarding CACHSC procedures and multidisciplinary response practices. Assist with community education and professional presentations regarding child abuse, the Children's Advocacy Center model, MDT collaboration, and available CACHSC services. Maintain awareness of current CAC standards, MDT best practices, applicable laws, and agency protocols. Participate in continuing education and professional development activities related to the position. Documentation, Data, and Compliance Maintain accurate and timely MDT documentation and case information in CACHSC's designated case management and documentation systems. Monitor required case documentation and follow up on outstanding information as appropriate. Assist with quality assurance activities, case reviews, and reporting requirements. Prepare reports and data related to MDT activities, case coordination, meetings, training, and services as assigned. Assist leadership with identifying trends, service gaps, workflow concerns, and opportunities for program improvement. Maintain confidentiality of all case, family, personnel, and agency information. Follow CACHSC policies and procedures, MDT Working Protocols, applicable Children's Advocacy Center standards, and all applicable federal, state, and local requirements. On-Call Responsibilities Participate in the
CACHSC MDT
on-call rotation and remain available for seven (7) on-call days per month, or as otherwise scheduled by CACHSC leadership. Respond to calls, messages, referrals, and MDT-related needs during assigned on-call periods. Provide or coordinate appropriate assistance to law enforcement, CPS, and other MDT partners regarding urgent case coordination needs. Assist with determining appropriate CACHSC response and routing of urgent matters to the appropriate program, supervisor, or leadership when necessary. Document on-call contacts, actions taken, referrals, and follow-up needs in accordance with CACHSC procedures. Maintain availability and reliable communication during assigned on-call periods. On-call responsibilities may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and other hours outside the employee's regular work schedule. On-call responsibilities do not replace or supersede established emergency procedures. Emergencies requiring an immediate law enforcement, medical, or other emergency response should be directed to the appropriate emergency service. Travel and In-Person Requirements This position requires regular in-person work. Must be available to work at CACHSC facilities and attend meetings, trainings, case reviews, and other activities in person. Must travel between CACHSC locations, including Edinburg, Mission, Roma, Weslaco, and other locations as needed. Must travel throughout Hidalgo and Starr Counties to attend MDT meetings, meet with partner agencies, provide training and technical assistance, and participate in community and professional activities. Occasional travel outside Hidalgo and Starr Counties may be required for training, conferences, meetings, or other agency business. Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel as required by the position. Occasional evening or extended hours may be required for MDT meetings, trainings, special case reviews, community events, or other program needs. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in social work preferred, criminal justice, psychology, human services, public administration, law enforcement, education, or a related field required. Minimum of two years of professional experience working with Child Protective Services, law enforcement, prosecution, victim services, a Children's Advocacy Center, or another child-serving organization preferred. Experience working within a multidisciplinary or multi-agency environment preferred. Knowledge of the Children's Advocacy Center model and multidisciplinary response to child abuse preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational, coordination, follow-up, and time-management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with professionals from multiple agencies and disciplines. Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information appropriately. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer-based documentation and communication systems. Ability to learn and utilize CACHSC's case management, scheduling, reporting, and documentation systems.
