About the Role We are looking for a friendly, outgoing, Japanese-speaking team member to help us create food, cultural, fandom, gaming, and entertainment experiences in the Bay Area. This is a hands-on role that combines Japanese community and brand relationships, event coordination, hosting, food, games, fandom, and social media. You will help communicate with Japanese brands and partners, coordinate community and fandom events, work with vendors and collaborators, interact with guests, and represent our company both in person and online. Professional event or marketing experience is not required. We are especially interested in people who are personable, reliable, curious, and excited to learn. This could be a great fit for someone looking for flexible part-time work, including parents, semi-retired professionals, students, freelancers, or people pursuing other creative projects. What You'll Do Japanese Community & Brand Relationships Communicate with Japanese-speaking brands, businesses, restaurants, food companies, creators, and cultural organizations Help build and maintain relationships with Japanese brands and partners both locally and internationally Communicate with partners in Japanese through email, messaging, and other channels Assist with outreach to potential vendors, sponsors, collaborators, and brand partners Coordinate product samples, brand activations, collaborations, and other partnership details Research interesting Japanese brands, products, trends, and potential collaborations Events & Community Programming Help plan and execute food, cultural, fandom, gaming, and entertainment events Coordinate with fan communities, creators, performers, vendors, and community organizations Help organize games, tournaments, watch parties, screenings, demonstrations, meetups, and other interactive events Assist with event setup, check-in, activities, hosting, food service, and breakdown Help make events welcoming, organized, and fun for guests Hosting & Social Media Welcome guests and interact with customers in a warm and engaging way Host games, activities, tastings, demonstrations, and other event programming Appear in photos and videos for Instagram, TikTok, and other social media Participate in short-form videos, interviews, demonstrations, and event content Help create fun and approachable content around Japanese culture, food, games, fandom, and events Food & Hands-On Event Work Assist with food preparation, tastings, demonstrations, setup, serving, and cleanup Work with food brands, restaurants, chefs, and vendors Help research and develop food-related event concepts Introduce guests to new foods, products, and experiences Required Qualifications Fluent spoken Japanese Strong Japanese reading and writing ability Able to communicate comfortably in English Friendly, approachable, and comfortable talking with new people Comfortable appearing on social media and in front of a camera Reliable and responsible Willing to learn and take initiative Comfortable with hands-on event work and changing priorities Able to work some evenings and weekends when events require it Experience & Skills Professional experience is not required. We welcome candidates from a variety of backgrounds. Experience in any of the following is a plus: Japanese food, restaurants, cooking, baking, catering, or hospitality Event coordination or event production Hosting, theater, performance, presenting, or public speaking Social media or content creation Anime, manga, video games, board games, or fandom communities Japanese cultural organizations or community groups Working with Japanese companies or brands Marketing, partnerships, or community management Who Would Be a Great Fit?
