Job Overview The Black Infant Health (BIH) Program is a specialized Maternal, Child, Adolescent Health (MCAH) program under California Department of Public Health (CDPH) in the Local Health Jurisdiction of San Joaquin County. The focus is to ensure women in California are healthy before, during, and after pregnancy; ensure all infants are born healthy and thrive in their first year of life; and reduce infant mortality with a focus on reducing disparities. To achieve its goals, the BIH Program is a client-centered, strength-based group intervention with complementary 1:1 support that embraces the life course perspective and promotes social support, empowerment, skill building, stress reduction and goal setting. This project is implemented in a hybrid structure with San Joaquin County Public Health Services. Responsibilities Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, organizations, and stakeholders through proactive engagement and regular communication. Develops and maintains a site-specific Recruitment Plan for BIH Conduct outreach activities Promote the BIH Program and program participation by attending various interagency, community collaborations, fairs, and events Create Social media Content as needed Data Collection and Reporting Requirements Bachelor's Degree or higher Community Outreach or Organizing Experience Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders Demonstrated commitment to high standards and a history of achieving results despite challenges Passion for serving the community and a deep understanding of trauma-informed care Critical thinking and problem-solving skills How to
