We are seeking a motivated and community-minded Community Educator to help strengthen families and communities across Aroostook County. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working on multiple projects, connecting with people, and spending time in communities to learn about their unique strengths, needs, and priorities. The successful candidate will have a flexible schedule and be available to participate in local community and family events at times that are convenient for families, including early evenings and Saturdays. We are looking for someone who is passionate about community engagement and education and enjoys working alongside children, families, professionals, and community members. This person will be curious, adaptable, relationship-focused, and committed to building meaningful connections that support children, families, and communities.

Key Responsibilities:

Organize and actively participate in child, family, and community events throughout Aroostook County. Organize and facilitate parent education classes and other learning opportunities for families. Organize and facilitate trainings and educational opportunities for professionals and community members. Build relationships and partnerships that strengthen support for children and families. Lead and mobilize collaborative community efforts to support children and families. Increase community awareness of ways to strengthen families through outreach, events, education, and community activities throughout Aroostook County. Spend time in communities listening, learning, and building connections to better understand their unique strengths, needs, and priorities.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Valid Maine Driver's License Insured, dependable vehicle available for business use Willingness and ability to travel throughout Aroostook County A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education, or a related field is preferred; however, applicants with a combination of relevant education and/or experience are encouraged to apply.

Pay:

$19.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 32.0 per week
