Newark, NJ Job Details Full-time $24 - $30 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications High school diploma or GED Event customer service Full Job Description New Jersey Adult Medical Day Care is seeking an outgoing, dependable, and compassionate individual to join our team as a Community Outreach, Marketing & Activities Assistant . This hybrid position combines community marketing, participant recruitment, social media support, and assistance with recreational activities for older adults and individuals who require daytime medical supervision and support. The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, comfortable speaking with people in the community, and able to build positive relationships with prospective participants, families, healthcare professionals, and referral sources. Key ResponsibilitiesMarketing and Community Outreach Promote New Jersey Adult Medical Day Care services throughout the surrounding community. Develop and maintain relationships with physicians' offices, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, senior housing communities, home care agencies, social service organizations, religious organizations, and other referral sources. Conduct outreach through telephone calls, in-person visits, community events, health fairs, presentations, and networking opportunities. Provide prospective participants and families with accurate information about the center's services, activities, transportation, meals, nursing support, and enrollment process. Schedule and assist with facility tours. Follow up with prospective participants, families, caregivers, case managers, and referral sources. Assist prospective participants with gathering required enrollment information and documents. Distribute brochures, flyers, and other approved promotional materials. Maintain organized records of referrals, outreach visits, tours, follow-up contacts, and enrollment progress. Provide management with regular updates regarding marketing activities, referrals, and prospective enrollments. Assist with open houses, community events, health screenings, and participant-recruitment initiatives. Social Media and Digital Marketing Assist with creating and posting approved content on the organization's social media platforms. Create engaging photographs, short videos, captions, event promotions, flyers, and announcements. Help highlight participant activities, special events, community involvement, and center services. Assist with maintaining a consistent social media posting schedule. Monitor social media messages and inquiries and forward them to the appropriate staff member. Follow all HIPAA, confidentiality, photography-consent, and organizational social media requirements. Never publish participant photographs, videos, names, medical information, or other identifying information without proper authorization and documented consent. Activity Support Assist the Activity Director and activity staff with scheduled participant programs. Help prepare activity materials and set up activity areas. Encourage participants to attend and engage in recreational, social, educational, cultural, musical, and physical activities. Assist with games, arts and crafts, exercise programs, music, celebrations, group discussions, and special events. Support birthdays, holiday programs, theme days, field trips, and community outings. Assist with recording participant attendance and participation when assigned. Observe participants during activities and promptly report changes in behavior, mood, functional ability, or health status to the appropriate staff member. Help maintain a safe, organized, respectful, and enjoyable environment. Assist with taking approved photographs or videos of activities for organizational marketing purposes after participant consent has been verified. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in marketing, community outreach, customer service, healthcare, senior services, social services, recreation, or activities is preferred. Experience working with older adults or individuals with medical, cognitive, developmental, or functional limitations is preferred. Social media marketing, content creation, digital outreach, photography, videography, graphic design, or experience managing a business social media account is preferred and considered a plus. Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Canva, or similar platforms is preferred. Strong verbal communication, interpersonal, organizational, and follow-up skills. Comfortable speaking with prospective participants, families, healthcare professionals, and community organizations. Friendly, professional, energetic, and compassionate personality. Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a multidisciplinary team. Basic computer, email, data-entry, and recordkeeping skills. Ability to protect confidential participant and organizational information. Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel locally for outreach activities. Bilingual or multilingual ability is strongly preferred based on the population served. Physical Requirements The employee must be able to perform the essential responsibilities of the position with or without reasonable accommodation, including: Standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, and moving throughout the facility and community. Setting up and putting away activity materials, displays, and promotional supplies. Lifting and carrying supplies weighing up to approximately 25 pounds. Traveling locally to healthcare offices, community organizations, senior programs, and outreach events. Working occasional evenings or weekends for community events, open houses, or special programs when scheduled. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is: Outgoing and comfortable meeting new people.
