Job Description

Position Summary The Community Engagement & Events Manager is responsible for increasing awareness of York Habitat for Humanity throughout York County by coordinating community events, managing public outreach efforts, cultivating community relationships, and supporting organizational marketing initiatives. This position serves as the public-facing connector between York Habitat and the broader community, ensuring the organization maintains a strong presence at community events, civic gatherings, neighborhood activities, and public functions. The Community Engagement & Events Manager is responsible for planning and executing organizational events while helping communicate Habitat's mission, impact, and opportunities for involvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Event Planning & Coordination Lead planning and execution of all York Habitat community and fundraising events. Coordinate logistics including venues, vendors, registrations, signage, permits, schedules, and event materials. Manage event timelines and project plans. Coordinate groundbreaking ceremonies, home dedications, community celebrations, donor events, and special initiatives. Assist with Women Build event logistics in collaboration with the Volunteer Services Manager and Development Director. Develop post-event evaluations and recommendations. Community Outreach & Public Engagement Represent York Habitat at community meetings, festivals, networking events, chamber functions, and public gatherings. Build relationships with neighborhood associations, civic organizations, churches, schools, and community groups. Identify opportunities to increase York Habitat's visibility throughout York County. Coordinate educational presentations regarding affordable housing and Habitat's mission. Maintain a community engagement calendar and outreach schedule. Marketing & Communications Support Create content for social media, newsletters, website updates, and event promotions. Collect homeowner, volunteer, and donor stories for use in marketing materials. Assist with photography and content gathering at Habitat events. Work with staff to maintain consistent branding and messaging. Help develop promotional materials and community awareness campaigns. Administrative & Reporting Responsibilities Track attendance and participation metrics for events and outreach activities. Maintain records of community partnerships and outreach efforts. Prepare reports on engagement activities and outcomes. Assist with annual planning related to community engagement initiatives. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, event management, nonprofit management, or related field preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience in event planning, community relations, communications, or related field. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media platforms. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Preferred Nonprofit experience. Event planning experience. Public speaking experience. Graphic design experience using Canva or similar software. Knowledge of York County communities and organizations.
Pay:
$55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
