The RUN (Revitalize Urban Neighborhoods) Coordinator is a key implementation role within the Mayor's "6 in 26 Strategic Priorities", focused on delivering visible, block-by-block neighborhood transformation across the City of York. This position is responsible for coordinating City services, aligning partnerships, and driving targeted neighborhood improvements that enhance quality of life, stabilize housing, and strengthen community pride. The RUN Coordinator serves as the bridge between strategy and execution. Ensuring that City efforts are not siloed, but instead unified, responsive, and results-driven. Maintaining communication with Administration to remain responsive to the vision of the Office of Mayor initiative. The RUN Coordinator is essential to delivering on the City's commitment to visible, measurable progress in 2026 and beyond. This role ensures that residents not only hear about change, but see and experience it on their blocks, in their neighborhoods, and in their daily lives. Key Responsibilities:
Neighborhood Revitalization (RUN Initiative) Lead implementation of the RUN (Revitalize Urban Neighborhoods) Initiative in priority areas Identify and target neighborhoods using data (blight, vacancy, lead exposure, public safety trends) Coordinate block-by-block improvement strategies with measurable outcomes Cross-Department Alignment Serve as a central coordinator across: Public Works Public Safety DCED Ensure services are aligned and deployed strategically, including: Clean-up and beautification efforts Property maintenance and code enforcement Housing stabilization and inspections Community Engagement & Partnerships Build and maintain partnerships with: Neighborhood associations and residents Nonprofits and faith-based organizations Healthcare partners (UPMC, WellSpan) Educational institutions (e.g., York College) Organize and support initiatives such as: "

Be Part of the Solution" efforts Community meetings, outreach events, and volunteer coordination Program & Grant Support Support implementation of grant-funded initiatives (CDBG, State, Federal, ARPA) Assist with coordination of: Lead abatement programs Unhoused response initiatives Workforce and youth engagement programs (e.g., "From Playgrounds to Paychecks") Data, Reporting & Accountability Track progress of neighborhood interventions aligned with "6 in 26" Develop simple, clear reporting tools for leadership and City Council Identify operational gaps and recommend improvements Serve as a visible City presence in neighborhoods Provide regular updates to the Mayor's Office Support public communication efforts hi Communication & Visibility Serve as a visible City presence in neighborhoods Provide regular updates to the Mayor's Office Support public communication efforts highlighting neighborhood progress and impact Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Urban Studies, Community Development, or related field (preferred) 3-5 years of experience in community development, local government, or neighborhood-based work (preferred) Core Competencies Strong ability to coordinate across departments and systems Experience with community engagement and stakeholder collaboration Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to translate strategy into on-the-ground action and visible results
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with HUD, CDBG, or other public funding programs Knowledge of housing, code enforcement, or public health systems Familiarity with York City neighborhoods and community networks
Work Environment:
Combination of office and field work Regular presence in neighborhoods, meetings, and community events Some evening and weekend availability required
