POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Deputy Director, the Communities That Care (CTC) Coordinator plans, organizes and builds community support for the South Salt Lake Cares Coalition. The CTC Coordinator will oversee all committees within Promise South Salt Lake, interact with community leaders, partner organizations, residents and volunteers to facilitate program goals and objectives to better address root issues in the City related to substance misuse, mental/physical health, social impact, etc. by targeting prevention efforts to reduce risk factors and strengthen protective factors in the four domains of community, family, school and peer/individual.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 1. CTC
Coalition Management:
1.1. Uses effective group facilitation skills to help guide the coalition through the CTC planning and implementation process. Maintains council structure and CTC process with each committee. 1.2. Helps each committee within the coalition to complete the CTC MilestonesBenchmarks and maintain fidelity by coaching each Chair through their role/phase in the CTC process. Onboards new committee Chairs and provides ongoing training around prevention science, the CTC framework and meeting facilitation. 1.3. Coordinates efforts within and between committees to identify and solve problems in completing the MilestonesBenchmarks, and assists in implementing solutions. 1.4. Works with the core workgroup to recruit key leaders and potential community board members. 1.5. Maintains health of the coalition/committees by recruiting and engaging members, and by training committee Chairs on engagement practices. 1.6. Prepares for and leads the CTC workshops for each committee in appropriate order and timing for effective community progress, with support from the CTC coach. 1.7. Handles community board and Key Leader meeting preparationfollow-up. Coaches committee Chairs on effective meeting planning and facilitation. 1.8. Prepares documentationreports as needed. Standardizes and manages all documentationreports among committees. 1.9. Facilitates delegation of community prevention board tasks among committees, including but not limited to collecting, organizing, and analyzing data; community outreach and public relations; and board meetings. Leads discussions related to project planning and maintenance. 1.10. Works with community prevention board members, members of the larger community and the CTC coach to develop and implement a comprehensive community prevention plan in addition to guiding the development of action plans for each committee using the CTC approach. 1.11. Works with the community board to establish systems to monitor the implementation of selected interventions. 1.12. Works with individual committees to oversee implementation of the preventive interventions selected by each committee. 1.13. Coordinates dissemination of CTC information to key leaders, schools and other youth service providers and the public. Makes presentations and prepares community board members for community outreach. 1.14. Assists in writing grant proposals, reports, concept papers and other materials needed to obtain funding. 1.15. Under direction of community board leadership or funding workgroup, develops and manages budget. 2.
