The opportunity Holy Comforter Episcopal Church seeks a warm, dependable, and creative leader who will help children and youth know that they belong, are valued, and have a meaningful place in the Church. The Director will nurture relationships with young people and their families while coordinating volunteer-supported ministries where faith can be explored with curiosity, joy, and honesty. This 10-hour-per-week role is designed around collaboration. The Director works closely with the Rector, parents, and lay volunteers to sustain weekly formation, build community, and create manageable opportunities for children and youth to participate in worship and service. About Holy Comforter Episcopal Church Holy Comforter is a welcoming and affirming Episcopal congregation in Broomfield, Colorado. We are a caring, active, prayerful community with a strong tradition of lay leadership and a growing number of young families. Our baptismal promises guide us to seek and serve Christ in our neighbors and respect the dignity of every human being. Primary responsibilities Build trusted relationships with children, youth, and parents, serving as their primary ministry contact and offering attentive care when special concerns or important events arise. Coordinate Sunday School (pre-K-5th grade), Youth Group (6th-12th grade), and nursery coverage (any kid can land here during services), including selecting or preparing curriculum, scheduling volunteers, and making sure leaders have the information and materials they need. Participate regularly in Sunday worship and help children and youth find meaningful roles in the congregation's worship, service, and community life. Plan periodic youth activities, service opportunities, field trips, and community-building events; communicate dates, expectations, permission requirements, and logistics clearly to families. Share diocesan youth opportunities and help organize participation in retreats, mission experiences, and other events as time and interest allow. Support eligible youth preparing for Confirmation in collaboration with the Rector. Maintain required registrations, permission forms, volunteer records, and Safe Church compliance information. What we hope you bring A grounded Christian faith and an openness to serving within the worship and practices of the Episcopal Church. Experience with children or teenagers through ministry, education, mentoring, youth development, camp, coaching, or a related setting. Volunteer experience is welcome.

A relational presence:

approachable, attentive, trustworthy, and able to communicate well with young people and adults. Strong organization and follow-through, including the ability to manage a small weekly schedule and coordinate volunteers. A collaborative spirit and commitment to the dignity, safety, and full welcome of every person. Ability to use email, shared documents, calendars, and basic church communication tools. Willingness to complete a background check and required Safe Church training before beginning unsupervised ministry. A college degree is not required. Compensation and benefits Compensation is $25.00 per hour for an average of 10 hours per week, equivalent to $13,000 annually. Approved mileage and other authorized ministry travel expenses are reimbursed. Workers' Compensation coverage is provided as required by law. Schedule and time away are planned with the Rector around the church calendar, major holy days, and seasonal office closures.
