Job Overview We are seeking an energetic team-builder to oversee our Sunday morning kids environments. This role primarily involves building and overseeing volunteer teams to create safe and engaging environments for children aged birth thru 6th grade. The ideal candidate will be comfortable being "up-front" (energetic, fun with kids, relational with parents) yet also know how to strategically grow a team-based ministry "behind the scenes" (administration, scheduling, training, policies). Combined Role Option For the right candidate, we could expand this position as a 25 hours/week role if they had an interest in also leading our youth ministry and overseeing associate ministerial needs. Responsibilities Lead and supervise activities for children aged birth thru 5th grade during Sunday morning services. Develop and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning, socialization, and spiritual growth. Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean, organized environment. Coordinate with church staff and volunteers to ensure smooth operation of services each week. Maintain accurate attendance records and ensure compliance with licensing or organizational policies. Prepare lessons, media, handouts, crafts, activities, and materials needed for activities, ensuring they are safe and engaging for children's developmental stages. Requirements Active CPR Certification is required. Previous training in First Aid is required. Cleared background check is required as part of hiring process. Commitment to becoming a Soul Church Partner Must have good spiritual disciplines including, but not limited to, a private devotional time, commitment to regular worship and giving. Experience building and managing staff or volunteer teams Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management strategies, and classroom management skills. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and team members. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patience and professionalism. Prior experience in early childhood education or teaching is highly desirable.
