Position Overview:

The Children's Director leads Crossroads Kids in creating safe, engaging, Christ-centered environments where children can know, live, and love like Jesus. This position oversees Sunday ministry from birth through 5th grade, including programming, volunteers, parent communication and ministry resources. The Children's Director leads with creativity, excellence and a team-first spirit while reflecting Crossroads' Worship, Serve and Grow values.

Required Qualifications:

A genuine and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. A strong passion for children and helping them develop a relationship with Jesus. Strong communication and relational skills with children, parents, volunteers and staff. Ability to lead, recruit and develop volunteers. Self-motivated, flexible, energetic and able to work independently. Ability to receive feedback, exercise sound judgment and handle sensitive situations with maturity. Successful completion of required background checks and commitment to all Crossroads policies and child-safety procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous children's ministry or church ministry experience. Experience teaching, adapting curriculum or leading children's programming. Experience recruiting and developing volunteers.

Schedule:

Part-Time, Monday, Thursday & Sunday Hybrid work environment with both onsite and remote capabilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

Sunday Children's Ministry

• Plan and oversee engaging, Christ-centered Sunday experiences for children birth-5th grade.
• Creatively adapt curriculum and coordinate teaching, worship, games, activities, sensory experiences and take-home resources.
• Integrate Crossroads' Worship, Serve and Grow disciplines into age-appropriate experiences.
• Ensure environments are safe, organized, welcoming and biblically sound. Volunteer Leadership & Parent Engagement
• Recruit, train, schedule, encourage and lead Crossroads Kids volunteers.
• Build a healthy volunteer culture where people feel equipped, valued and connected to the ministry.
• Develop strong, consistent relationships and communication with parents.
• Address questions, concerns and difficult conversations with grace, maturity and good judgment. Teaching & Church Culture
• Lead children toward a growing relationship with Jesus through creative, engaging and biblically grounded teaching.
• Participate in staff meetings and team collaboration while supporting the mission, vision and culture of Crossroads.
• Oversee VBS and other special events as assigned, partnering with volunteers and staff to create meaningful experiences for children and families.
• Manage ministry resources and budget responsibly and follow all Crossroads policies and child-safety procedures.
