Aldersgate UMC and Vista Ridge UMC are launching The Open Table Youth Collective —an innovative, collaborative ministry designed to transform how churches serve young people together. We're looking for a Founding Area Director to help lead this movement. This isn't a maintenance role. It's a chance to build a thriving ministry from the ground up that equips students, empowers volunteers, partners with families, and creates new ways for youth to experience the love of Christ—in churches and throughout the community. What You'll Do Inspire and lead vibrant youth ministry across two partner churches Recruit, coach, and encourage amazing volunteers Build relationships with students, parents, schools, and community partners Create innovative programs, events, retreats, and outreach opportunities Develop young leaders and help shape the future of collaborative ministry

We're Looking For Someone Who Is:

✅ Passionate about youth and families ✅ A relationship-builder and team leader ✅ Creative, entrepreneurial, and excited to start something new ✅ Organized, collaborative, and self-motivated ✅ Grounded in Christian faith and called to ministry Qualifications Bachelor's degree 3+ years of youth ministry or comparable leadership experience Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Experience recruiting and developing volunteers United Methodist or collaborative ministry experience is a plus Ability to lead collaboratively across multiple ministry settings. Demonstrated experience recruiting and developing volunteers. Self-motivated with excellent planning and organizational skills. Awareness of adolescent development and the social realities facing today's youth. Ability to successfully complete a background check and Ministry Safe requirements. Preferred Theological education or seminary training. Experience within The United Methodist Church. Experience developing collaborative or multi-site ministries. Experience building partnerships with schools and community organizations. Experience with nonprofit or parachurch work. Leadership & Organizational Structure The Open Table Youth Collective begins as a shared ministry of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and Vista Ridge United Methodist Church. The Founding Area Director will initially report jointly to the Lead Pastors of both churches and work collaboratively with both staff teams and Staff-Parish Relations Committees. Our long-term vision is to establish The Open Table Youth Collective as an independent nonprofit organization governed by a community-based board of directors. Over the next three to five years, the Founding Area Director will play an important role in helping shape that transition and build a sustainable ministry that serves churches and communities throughout the region.
