An Enrollment or Admission Counselor reviews applications and advises on admissions decisions for private elementary and secondary schools, colleges and universities. Organizes information and promotional materials about a school, conducts interviews with students and families, reviews application materials, and works with other school or college administrators to plan admissions goals and identify financial aid resources for admitted students. May travel to meet and recruit students.

The CAP Counselor supports 12th-grade students throughout the college, career, and postsecondary planning process. The counselor provides individualized guidance to ensure students successfully transition from high school to college, technical education, military service, or the workforce.
Primary Responsibilities:
Meet individually with seniors to develop postsecondary education and career plans. Assist students with college, university, technical school, military, and workforce applications. Guide students through the Common Application, institutional applications, and admissions requirements. Support students in completing the FAFSA, state financial aid applications, scholarships, and other financial aid opportunities. Help students identify scholarship opportunities and assist with scholarship applications. Monitor senior graduation requirements and ensure students remain on track for graduation. Collaborate with school counselors, administrators, teachers, parents, and college representatives to support student success. Coordinate college visits, career fairs, financial aid workshops, and postsecondary planning events. Assist students with requesting transcripts, test scores, recommendation letters, and other required admissions documents. Maintain accurate records of student meetings, applications, and postsecondary outcomes. Provide classroom presentations and workshops on college admissions, financial literacy, career planning, and transition skills. Monitor college acceptance, enrollment, and scholarship data for reporting purposes. Stay current on college admissions requirements, financial aid regulations, scholarship opportunities, and workforce trends.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in School Counseling, Education, Student Affairs, or a related field preferred. Experience in college advising, school counseling, or postsecondary planning preferred. Strong knowledge of college admissions, FAFSA, scholarships, and career readiness. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, school staff, and community partners.
