(BL-ADMS-IUBLA) Department Information The Office of Enrollment Management (OEM) at Indiana University (IU) Bloomington is dedicated to attracting, enrolling, and supporting a community of talented students from Indiana, across the nation, and around the world. OEM integrates strategic planning, data-informed decision-making, and collaborative partnerships across campus to create a seamless student experience from 1st contact through graduation. Through its units Admissions, Scholarships, the Registrar, Student Financial Assistance, Student Central, Orientation and Enrollment Programs, Retention, Planning and Research, Enrollment Marketing and Communications, Administration and Fiscal Affairs, and Development, OEM advances the university's mission by fostering access, belonging, and student success while upholding IU Bloomington's tradition of academic excellence and public service. The Office of Admissions is the front-facing department to the public for undergraduate recruitment for the Indiana University Bloomington campus. The Office of Admissions is responsible for attracting, recruiting, and enrolling new undergraduate students to the IU Bloomington campus each year, counseling prospective students and their families about the admissions process, providing accurate information to the public about our recruiting requirements and standards, and marketing Indiana University Bloomington. Job Summary Department Specific Responsibilities Responsible for the outreach to the community and recruitment of high school students in several areas both in and out of state. Travels to communities and high schools to share information, provides advisement, and supports students in their exploration, application process, and ultimately admission to IU. Supports on campus visit recruitment programming, an effort that hosts over 45,000 visitors on campus from across the state and country. Works with stakeholders to identify and engage prospective student groups based on enrollment trends and institutional priorities. General Responsibilities Maintains, implements and oversees a holistic recruitment yield tactical plan for recruitment. Develops, implements, and administers plans, programs, and events for general and targeted student recruitment in support of organizational goals. Integrates a diverse and strategic communications strategy in collaboration with other departments, geared toward specific student declared academic major, career interests, and geographic factors. Identifies and develops partnerships for outreach to prospective students and influencers. Interprets academic policies and exercises authority and independent judgment. Plans, implements, and evaluates programs and processes and determines the effectiveness of markets and strategies. Exercises independent judgment and uses census data and modeling tools to identify effective marketing plans and strategies to address specific populations. Serves in a collaborative role with internal and external stakeholders to to increase enrollment in focused areas. Participates in the assessment and evaluation of various models. May attend meetings or serve on committees with the admissions stakeholders, including all staff meetings, recruitment, and outreach team meetings, customer service lead meetings, and undergraduate recruitment council meetings; may provide guidance to other admissions counselors. Qualifications Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Working Conditions / Demands This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. This position requires considerable travel within assigned territory and occasional evening and weekend work. This position requires the able to perform required job-related travel during scheduled day and evening hours. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation. Work Location Bloomington, Indiana This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule (mix between 1 remote workday and 4 in-person workdays), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.
