A Family, School, or General Case Manager coordinates the delivery of a range of social and health services to individuals and families. Assess client needs and work with agencies and institutions ensure clients get the help they need. Monitor client and work with other service providers as necessary to address client needs. 00am-12pm (required) , rest of schedule to be set with supervisor. We are a vibrant and inclusive Unitarian Universalist Church seeking an assistant for our Lifespan Engagement programs. This position is a combination of administrative support and hands-on classroom work. The Assistant will plan and lead art projects, complete administrative work, interact and build relationships with children and families in the church. Essential Functions:
Set up children and family areas on Sunday mornings Prepare and lead activities, including games and crafts Provide administrative support for the Director of Lifespan Faith Engagement, including, communicating with families, making copies, organizing and tracking supplies. Supervise and interact with children in a warm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate manner Follow congregational safety policies while fostering a playful and caring environment Use age-appropriate guidance techniques to support children's social and emotional development Help prepare and clean up the children/youth areas before and after services.
Other Qualifications:
Be grounded, kind, patient, and responsible with children, families, and congregants Experience working with children (professional or volunteer) Comfort working both indoors and outdoors when weather permits Proficiency in Google Workspace applications Organization and time management skills Willingness to complete a Live Scan background check and Mandated Reporter Training (paid) Ability to align with and support the values of a progressive, liberal religious community Attend weekly meeting with supervisor in-person Work hours include most Sundays, even holidays, although some Sundays off may be pre-arranged with supervisor
Physical Requirements:
Able to navigate a variety of spaces-virtual and in person-to meet with membership and be with children and families (ability to correspond via email and answer phones, for example) Able to communicate publicly with some ease and comfort
