A Family, School, or General Case Manager coordinates the delivery of a range of social and health services to individuals and families. Family Time Program Director SUMMARY Kids Crossing believes that meaningful change occurs within safe, trusting relationships. Family Time services are designed not only to ensure child safety, but also to strengthen family connections, build parental capacity, and support reunification whenever possible. The Family Time Coordinator is responsible for providing safe, supportive, and therapeutic supervised family time services for children and families involved in the child welfare system. Using traumainformed principles and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®), the Family Time Coordinator helps strengthen parent-child relationships, promotes family healing, and supports permanency goals while ensuring the safety and well-being of children. The Family Time Coordinator provides observation, coaching, modeling, education, and feedback during family visits. The position emphasizes building connection, understanding the impact of trauma, developing parental protective capacities, and helping families create healthy, nurturing relationships. Services are provided in partnership with caseworkers, caregivers, treatment providers, and other members of the treatment team. Primary Responsibilities Family Time Services Provide supervision of family visits to ensure child safety and emotional well-being. Create a physically and emotionally safe environment for children and families. Utilize trauma-informed and TBRI® principles to support positive interactions between children and parents. Assist parents in developing skills related to: Nurturing relationships Emotional regulation Positive discipline Structure and routines Meeting children's physical and emotional needs Co-regulation and self-regulation Understanding trauma-related behaviors Model healthy attachment-focused parenting practices. Coach parents in responding to children's needs using connection rather than correction whenever appropriate. Help parents recognize the impact of trauma, grief, loss, separation, and adverse childhood experiences on children's behavior. Provide immediate intervention when safety concerns arise. Redirect inappropriate parent-child interactions in a respectful and educational manner. Debrief with parents following visits regarding strengths, progress, concerns, and opportunities for growth. Family Engagement and Team Collaboration Develop positive working relationships with children, parents, caregivers, and referral sources. Collaborate with Kids Crossing staff caseworkers, therapists, CASA volunteers, GALs, attorneys, and treatment providers. Recognizing and reinforcing family strengths. Supporting parents in identifying and achieving goals related to reunification and permanency. Communicate and collaborate with foster parents and kinship caregivers to support children before and after family time, helping promote smooth transitions, emotional regulation, and ongoing support in the home. Provide services that align with Kids Crossing's mission and values Participation in regular group and individual supervision. Attend and participate in staffings and team meetings. At times assisting in transportation to and from scheduled family time may be necessary. Therefore, this employee must possess a valid driver's license, have a clean driving record, maintain a safe vehicle, and current automobile insurance to cover business use of a private vehicle. (If employee is unsure about the extent of his/her automobile insurance cover, s/he should contact his/her insurance agent.) Pass required background checks, i.e. CBI, FBI, Central Registry. Documentation Complete Family Time Assessments and recommendations as assigned. Maintain accurate and timely visitation records. Document observations objectively and professionally. Submit documentation in accordance with Core Services and Kids Crossing requirements. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with agency policy and state law. Working Conditions Work is performed in office settings, family homes, visitation centers, schools, community locations, county offices, Department of Corrections, and courtrooms. The position requires regular travel, occasional evening hours, and availability to respond to urgent program needs. Family Time Coordinatorsmay encounter emotionally intense situations, family conflict, trauma related behaviors, and crisis situations requiring sound judgment, professionalism, and effective leadership. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Education, Criminal Justice, or related field preferred. Experience in foster care, child welfare, family preservation, supervised visitation, or related services preferred. Knowledge of trauma, attachment, child development, and family systems preferred.
