Job Description

Step into a key role supporting students and staff in an onsite, full-time assignment as a school social worker near New Britain, CT. Two immediate openings are available, each offering the opportunity to make an impact within a dedicated school community. Opening #1 runs from August 31, 2026, to October 9, 2026, focusing on a high school caseload with 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Opening #2, with a similar full-time schedule, is assigned to an elementary school from August 31, 2026, to September 30, 2026, with the potential for extension. Both positions are primarily focused on conducting student evaluations and providing support for short-leave coverage. Candidates must be comfortable working exclusively onsite, as virtual work is not available.
Key Qualifications:
Active CT DPH and CT (071) licensure/certification is required. Demonstrated experience in a school-based social work setting. Proficient in managing short-term or leave replacement assignments. Skilled in conducting evaluations for students at either high school or elementary levels. Comfortable working full-time, Monday through Friday, onsite. Prepared for a Zoom interview as part of the selection process.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive student evaluations and assessments. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support students' emotional, social, and academic needs. Document findings and provide recommendations to school staff and families. Serve as an advocate for student well-being and help implement intervention strategies.
