Job Description
Children's Ministry Coordinator Position Description The Children's Ministry Coordinator is responsible for implementing the Christian formation program for children from birth to 12 years old. Working with clergy, the Director of Operations, and volunteers, the focus is on sharing our faith, while fostering a culture of joy and invitation. This is a part-time position that is on the church campus for 30 hours each week and offers excellent benefits. About Bethesda-By-The-Sea Bethesda is a large and thriving Episcopal parish located on a beautiful campus in Palm Beach, Florida. We are seeking to grow and enrich our ministry with children and are committed to doing so. Founded in 1889, Bethesda has more than a thousand members. We currently see approximately 20 children each Sunday, including a Story Time program on Tuesday mornings for nursery age children.

In addition to a deep faith and a love of children, the successful candidate will be creative, energetic, organized, and passionate about the vision and ministry of Bethesda. Ability to connect and form meaningful relationships with children and families of diverse backgrounds. Bachelor's degree and minimum of three years' experience in children's ministry. Knowledge of the Episcopal church or other liturgical traditions is highly desirable. Ability to organize events. Ability to work on weekends and major holidays, in addition to regular weekday hours.Essential Job Functions:
Coordinate and oversee all areas of Christian formation for children from birth to age 12, including Sunday morning nursery care, Sunday School classes, and Story Time. Recruit, train, schedule, and encourage volunteer teachers and workers. Work with the parish clergy to establish goals, determine priorities, and set the calendar for all ministry with children and families. Along with volunteers and staff, plan and lead special events such as the Christmas Eve Pageant, the Easter Egg Hunt on Easter morning, and Vacation Bible School. Coordinate the procurement and maintenance of all material and equipment for the nursery, Sunday School, and special events. Maintain database with accurate information for children and families. Communicate and promote children's ministry programs and events, including information for Sunday leaflets, e-news, website, and social media, as well as to the wider community. Maintain consistent, clear, and regular commutations plan with children and families. Hire, supervise, and support nursery staff.Salary:
