This position plays a critical role in helping students overcome social, emotional, behavioral, and environmental barriers that may impact academic success. The ideal candidate will collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community partners to provide comprehensive support services and interventions that promote student well-being and educational achievement. Responsibilities Conduct social developmental studies, adaptive behavior assessments, and family assessments Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations, eligibility meetings, and IEP meetings Provide individual and group counseling services to students Develop and implement intervention strategies to support student success Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and related service providers Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and community agencies Support crisis intervention efforts and student safety initiatives Assist with child welfare reporting and follow-up services when appropriate Maintain accurate documentation, case notes, reports, and IEP records Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and team planning activities Qualifications Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker Endorsement Illinois Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred Experience working with children and families in a school or educational setting preferred Strong knowledge of special education processes, IEP development, and student support services Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
