School Social Worker HTD Day School | Melrose Park, IL HTD Day School is seeking a social worker to support students' social, emotional, and behavioral growth. In this role, you'll provide direct services, collaborate with families and school staff, and help students build the skills they need to succeed at school.

Required credentials:

A master's degree in social work and either an active Illinois Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license or an Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Worker endorsement. Candidates applying with an LCSW must meet applicable ISBE requirements for this school assignment. What you'll do Provide individual and group counseling to address students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Assess student needs, develop goals, and use evidence-based, trauma-informed strategies to support progress. Contribute to individualized education programs (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs), including meetings and follow-up with the school team. Work with teachers and staff to support students throughout the school day and promote a calm, supportive environment. Communicate with families and connect them with appropriate community resources. Maintain timely, accurate, and confidential service records and progress notes. What we're looking for Master's degree in social work from an accredited program. Active Illinois LCSW license or Illinois PEL with a School Social Worker endorsement, subject to applicable ISBE assignment requirements. Experience working with children or adolescents in a school, therapeutic, or mental health setting. Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and strategies for supporting students with behavioral needs. Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills. Ability to build trusting relationships with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
