General Purpose:

To provide program development of both church and community service programs. They will work closely with the pastors/directors within the church and oversee all aspects of caretaking of congregants and the community. They will oversee missions both local and worldwide. They will equip, encourage, and evaluate volunteers and staff on their team. This position reports directly to the Director of Volunteer/Staff Care & Service, and pay will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Exist as the first point of contact as congregational members face crises and challenges, and this applies on an individual, church-wide and community- wide basis. Maintain a current resource database to share with people with community resources, for services such as food pantries, counseling services, etc. Foster a connection with organizations within our community who provide services such as the ones mentioned above. Oversee a hospital care ministry, which includes developing a team, communication between Prayer Team, and visitation. Follow up with information learned from the Connections Coordinator to initiate care and service. Serve as the point of contact for our ministry partners, both in our community and abroad. Be available to perform any other duties as requested and needed, such as baptisms, child dedications, funerals, meeting with new families, weddings and mentoring. Manage onsite funeral needs Implement a process for meal trains and distribution Work with the Director of Discipleship on care related ministries, such as GriefShare and Celebrate Recovery Create an ongoing awareness of ADA compliances and be an advocate for the needs of all individuals within the church.

Time Commitment:

15 hours a week initially, starting at $18

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

An aptitude for anticipating the needs of others Chaplain like demeanor offering extra grace where needed and demonstrates the ability to de-escalate A strong ability to organize and lead teams of volunteers A comfortability with Google Suite and Microsoft Office An acute sensibility to holding and appropriately disseminating confidential information A basic understanding of other common languages in the area, such as Spanish and American Sign Language A comfortability with Planning Center Superb written and verbal communication skills A growing personal relationship with Christ A willingness to build and maintain strategic partnerships with community members and organizations to address and meet the needs of individuals that our church cannot Leadership qualities as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:7 in the Bible A willingness and desire to uphold our church's statement of belief and a commitment to the mission of the church
