This role builds and manages lesson schedules, places skaters into appropriate skill levels, supervises instructional staff, and serves as the primary lead of contact for schools and youth groups booking educational ice time. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with parents and school staff, and confident evaluating skating skill levels. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Build and maintain the seasonal skating lesson schedule across all skill levels Assign and coordinate instructors for each lesson session; monitor class sizes and ratios Administer skill assessments and progression testing; place skaters into appropriate levels Serve as primary contact for school field trip bookings, including scheduling, waivers, and transportation coordination with school liaisons Ensure field trip groups have appropriate safety orientation, skate fitting, and supervision on the ice Track lesson enrollment numbers and instructor performance; report trends to the Aquatics Manager Handle parent/participant inquiries and resolve scheduling conflicts Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of lesson instructors Maintain accurate attendance and enrollment records for billing and reporting purposes Serve as the on-site lead during general skating hours, supporting skate staff and guests

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITY
Prior ice-skating instruction or coaching experience strongly preferred Experience working with children and school-age groups Strong organizational skills; comfortable managing multiple schedules simultaneously Clear communicator with parents, school staff, and instructional team Availability to work weekday mornings for field trips and evenings/weekends for lessons Ability to skate and demonstrate technique on the ice for extended periods is preferred Ability to stand, walk, and supervise activity on and off the ice for full shift duration Ability to work in a cold outdoor rink environment Ability to lift and move supplies and equipment (up to 50 lbs)
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION
Must be 18 years of age High School Diploma or GED preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)

Ice Skates, skate sharpener, skate aids, iPad, two-way radio, cones, First Aid kits, credit card machine, cold weather gear

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position operates both outdoors and indoors. The majority of duties are performed outdoors in varying weather conditions, including exposure to cold temperatures, wind, precipitation, and seasonal weather fluctuations. This position also requires periods of indoor administrative duties which may require prolonged periods of sitting, working at a computer, and using standard office equipment. The employee must be able to move frequently between indoor and outdoor environments.
