Job Description The Monitoring Administrator is responsible for licensing child care facilities, monitoring initial and ongoing compliance, and enforcing child care laws and health and safety regulations for a variety of licensed child care facilities in assigned management region. Region assignments include a variety of facility types across numerous counties in the state. This position serves as the "custodian of the record", including review and analysis of findings of noncompliance in regulated child care and youth programs, assesses scope and severity of regulatory noncompliance, and determines and recommends appropriate enforcement action in accordance with the laws and regulations to protect children and youth. Skills and Requirements Two years of experience in child services and the child care field Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Social Services field Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State. Experience working on a team and organizing/coordinating activities and processes Computer skills in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Oulook. Grammar skills proficient in proofreading, editing, and strong attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Good customer service skills. Regulatory experience Knowledge of principals/practices of early childhood education Ability to perform multiple tasks Ability to set goals and develop strategies and plans to meet goals Experience exercising independent decision making
