As part of the Office of the Ste Surgeon, the incumbent exercises technical oversight of behavioral health (BH) programs and supports the development of an annual program stregy to determine priorities, gaps, needs, and means to achieve annual goals. Serves as a ste liaison to the Army Nional Guard (ARNG) and Joint Surgeon BH programs; ensures timely and accure ste BH reporting and represents the ste on ARNG BH Work Group. Major duties focus on coordinion and implemention of BH programs and processes encompassing: (1) outreach and educion, (2) populion health surveillance, (3) command consultion, (4) screening and evaluion, (5) crisis intervention, (6) physical profiling, (7) trement referral networks, (8) case management efforts, and (9) quality assurance.
Responsibilities include providing:
primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention programs, specialty training for NG health care professionals and other personnel on issues reled to the psychological health of Guardsmen and their families, and multi-level community organizion, collaborion, and enhancement.. EDUCATION
Master's degree in Social Work from a gradue school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Educion (CSWE).
CERTIFICATION
Possess a current, unrestricted Ste license to practice clinical social work independently.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
: Must have 24 months of experience in clinical social work assignments. Completion of the Air Force Social Work Internship Program may be substituted for 12 months of the specialized experience requirement. This experience demonstres particular competencies of knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Knowledge of social work theories, principles, techniques, and resources. Must have specialized experience in professional social work th includes interviewing people to establish the nure and extent of their problems, helping them work-out plans for improving the situion, providing assistance and services, referring them to community resources and other organizions as indiced, and assisting them to understand and modify their own pterns of behavior when approprie. Except as sted above, no other substitution of educion for specialized experience is allowed. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
