Coordinator:
School Year Planner shall generally do and perform, or cause to be performed, all acts and things reasonably necessary to plan and coordinate all Extended School Year (ESY) activities, to improve operational efficiency, and to maximize the educational benefits to our students and the community. This work primarily takes place during the school year prior to the ESY program. The Extended School Year (ESY)
Coordinator:
School Year Planner reports to the Director of Student Services. DUTIES Duties for this position include, but are not limited to: Communicates with Special Education Teachers and other Specializes Instructional Support Personnel regarding instructional planning and data collection throughout the year; Plans for, and hires, all ESY service providers and staff, and budgets accordingly with the Director; Prepares a calendar of significant ESY dates, adhering to all ESY Handbook timelines; Works with the Student Services Office (SSO) to provide ESY information to parents, and to set up all transportation needs; Conducts orientation trainings and meetings for ESY staff; Coordinates and plans special events and/or ongoing community activities, as approved by the Director and within the constraints of the budget; Works with the Facilities department to identify needed space; Ensures all supplies, technology needs, and IEP access to ESY staff is arranged prior to the start of the program; Maintains a high level of communication with the Director, ESY Summer Coordinator, parents and staff, and analyzes the program on an ongoing basis; Performs other duties as directed by the Director of Student Services and/or the Superintendent of Schools.
QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for this position, candidates must have the following: Licensed, or eligible for licensure as a Supervisor/Director by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education, or a related administrative certification preferred, but not required; Master's degree, from an accredited college or university, in Education or a related field; Successful administrative leadership experience; Demonstrated experience in working with students with special needs; Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and in conformity with state certification requirements.
