This unique position combines classroom support during the school day with an engaging after-school experience for children from Toddlers through Kindergarten . Every day is different—and every day is an opportunity to help children learn, grow, and feel valued. Your Day at a Glance Midday Classroom Support (11:00 AM•2:30 PM) You'll become an important part of one Toddler or Primary classroom by: Supporting half-day dismissal and recess transitions Assisting children during lunch in a calm and respectful environment Helping toddlers and primary students during rest and nap time Providing classroom coverage while teachers attend meetings, planning time, or breaks Partnering with teachers to support each child's individual needs Kids' Corner After School (2:30 PM•6:00 PM) When the school day ends, the fun begins! You'll help create an engaging after-school experience by: Supervising indoor and outdoor play Leading games, arts and crafts, and creative activities Supporting homework, quiet time, and social-emotional learning Assisting with snacks, clean-up, and daily transitions Building meaningful relationships with children and families Communicating student needs with the Kids' Corner leadership team Qualifications We're looking for someone who has: Experience working with young children in a school, childcare, camp, or early childhood setting High school diploma or equivalent (coursework in Early Childhood Education is a plus) CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain) Strong communication and teamwork skills A dependable, flexible, and child-centered approach The ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism The ideal candidate is: Kind, nurturing, and responsive Organized and dependable Comfortable managing routines and transitions A collaborative team player Passionate about supporting children's social, emotional, and developmental growth Committed to the mission and values of Jackson Walnut Park School Schedule Regular School Days Monday-Friday 11:00 a.m.•6:00 p.m. No School Days (Kids' Corner Open) 7:45 a.m.•6:00 p.m.
