Position Summary:
The District Family Liaison plays a vital role in creating a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive school environment. As a bridge between families, the school, and the broader community, the Liaison helps strengthen relationships that foster student success and bring Waltham Public Schools' vision for Family and Community Engagement to life through trust, collaboration, and shared purpose. This role ensures families have the information, resources, and connections needed to support their children's learning and well-being. The Family Liaison provides outreach, referrals, and advocacy—especially for families facing barriers to access—and helps cultivate a strong sense of belonging within the school community. In addition to their school-based work, each Liaison contributes to districtwide efforts by participating in monthly Family Engagement Team meetings and events that advance equity and engagement across Waltham Public Schools.Specific Responsibilities:
Serve as an accessible point of contact for families with questions or concerns, ensuring they feel supported, informed, and valued. Transportation needed (visiting schools necessary) Support registration and enrollment process for parents/caregivers and students enrolling in WPS Communicate regularly with families in accessible and culturally responsive ways. Support families in learning how to access and use school platforms and other technologies to stay connected with their child's education. Serve as a bridge between home, school, and community, connecting families to relevant school and community resources and supports. Support school-based meetings (attendance/ behavior/ IEP) with families when language translation is needed. Serve as the McKinney-Vento (MKV) Homeless Education point of contact for the school, ensuring families experiencing homelessness are aware of their rights and connected to support. Participate in monthly Family Liaison department meetings and professional development opportunities to share best practices and align efforts across Waltham Public Schools. Maintain accurate records of outreach, engagement activities, and referrals in accordance with district procedures and confidentiality guidelines. Track and report on family engagement efforts, participation, and outcomes to inform school and district practices. Participate & support targeted evening and weekend family and community engagement events and activities as needed. Perform other duties as assigned to support the school's mission and WPS Family and Community Engagement goals.Reports To:

$55,000- 65,000
