Job Description

Social Worker Loranger Memorial School, grades 3-8 2026-27 School Year, FTE 1.0 Located a ½ mile from the Atlantic Ocean and 15 minutes from Portland, Loranger Memorial School is a 340 student, grades 3-8 school seeking a Social Worker to join our Team. The Social Worker acts as a Student Services Provider, Community Outreach Coordinator, and an IEP/504 Team Member. The successful candidate should possess the following:
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Citizenship, residency or work visa Maine Department of Education CHRC (Criminal History Record Check) https://www.maine.gov/doe/cert/fingerprinting Hold valid Maine clinical license (LCSW)
QUALIFICATIONS / JOB SUMMARY
Conduct mental health screenings and crisis management support Assist team members with making community connections Consult with team members to provide integrated programming Participate in the development of student goals, to include progress monitoring Provide direct counseling services in social/emotional learning, group and/or individual Experience working with students with a variety of disabilities Develop and deliver professional development training(s) for the district, school, and/or teams Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and share best practices Excellent communication with parents, teachers, administrators, community leaders and other stakeholders to promote and support student success Demonstrated ability of understanding and supporting the academic, social, and emotional needs of students Interest in participating in the school community outside of the classroom Exemplary time management and organizational skills
SALARY RANGE
$47,380 - 90,640 Starting placement within the Collective Bargaining Agreement step scale is determined by prior credited experience and education level.
