Westbrook Middle School Westbrook Middle School is searching for an energetic, positive School Social Worker to join our team for the 2026-2027 School Year. Skills, Knowledge, Abilities

• Knowledge of Social Work principles, theories, testing, methods, etc. as well as proven behavior management methods.
• Knowledge of differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
• Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
• Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
• Ability to organize and coordinate work.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
• Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.

Qualifications Certification/License:

Masters Degree in Social Work or Professional Counselor; Valid State of Maine License (LCSW or LCPC); Experience in providing therapy to children, families, and groups; Experience in positive behavior supports or willingness to develop in this area; Ability to provide training to staff in areas of specialization; Excellent interpersonal skills to consult effectively and harmoniously with teachers, administrators, parents, and community providers in a variety of settings; Maintain integrity of confidential information relating to all aspects of the position; Knowledge of age appropriate social emotional development and therapy strategies.

Education:

• Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
• Masters Degree in Social Work.

Experience:
