Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract School-Based Social Worker - Michigan Full-Time Step into a rewarding school-based role supporting students in a 4th and 5th grade building! This full-time opportunity allows you to work with both special education and general education students while helping at-risk students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. The building serves approximately 195 students, with a caseload of about 15 special education students. You'll also have the opportunity to lead small intervention groups and implement restorative practices where and when needed.

Schedule:

8:35 AM - 3:30

PM Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Must hold a valid state Social Work license Must have school approval through the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) Previous school-based experience preferred Ability to support both special education and general education students Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills Comfortable working with at-risk students and addressing a variety of social-emotional needs

Responsibilities & Duties:

Provide social work services to a caseload of approximately 15 special education students Support students in both special education and general education settings Assist at-risk students with academic, social, and emotional needs Facilitate small intervention groups as needed Implement restorative practices when appropriate Collaborate with teachers, staff, and other school professionals to support student success Build positive relationships with students and provide individualized support This is a great opportunity for a School Social Worker who wants to make a meaningful impact in an elementary school setting while supporting a diverse range of student needs.
