Shelter Director Job Overview:
This role is vital in the running of the Shelters of the City Rescue Mission. The Coordinator oversees guests while they are in the shelter, ensuring a calm flow of guests throughout the schedule of the shift. The Coordinator must be friendly and encouraging while maintaining shelter policy and procedure with consistency and firmness. The Coordinator must also be able to complete tasks independently and accurately while staying calm under pressure. Expected Schedule- 2nd shift available.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Support and supervise guests during all activities and times during shift Work through assigned cleaning tasks in a thorough and detailed manner Have a good understanding of shelter policies and procedures and execute them properly Maintain good communication with the department, utilizing all available tools Maintain a clean and orderly workspace Cleaning, stocking, organizing as needed/assigned Assist with new guest intakes, understanding this process and executing it properly Attend all meetings and training sessions as scheduled Show the love of Christ, be ready to share the gospel, and pray with guests regularlyQualifications:
High School Diploma- Required Proficient use of the Microsoft Suite
- Required Skills Ability to learn a new computer program within 30 days of introduction Ability to proficiently use a phone system that spans multiple facilities
- including answering, transferring, putting calls on hold, etc.
- The below listed abilities are required to be able to complete the essential duties of the role: The Shelter Coordinator will need to be able to constantly navigate stairs
- quickly and proficiently navigating up to 3 flights of stairs whenever needed.
