Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a difference in the lives of young learners by providing vital social work services at the elementary level during a short-term contract opportunity. This assignment runs from early November through the end of December 2026, covering a maternity leave for the upcoming school year. As a valued member of the support team, you will work with students, families, and school staff to promote a safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution Valid state licensure or certification for school social work Previous experience working with elementary school-aged children preferred Demonstrated skills in crisis intervention, counseling, and case management Excellent communication and collaboration abilities Comfort working across multiple school sites
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct social work services to elementary students, including individual and group counseling Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop intervention strategies Conduct assessments to determine student needs and help shape individualized support plans Act as a resource for school staff and families regarding social, emotional, and behavioral concerns Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with district and legal guidelines Facilitate connections to community resources for students and families when appropriate This contract includes a consistent 37.5-hour weekly schedule, allowing you to build connections and make a significant impact in a short period of time.
