Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a direct impact on students' lives in a dynamic middle school setting, working as a School Social Worker on a part-time basis. This contract role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate closely with an experienced full-time Social Worker, providing mentorship and support—perfect for someone new to the field or looking to grow their experience in educational environments. As a Social Worker in this middle school, you'll work with a varied caseload, primarily composed of traditional middle school students, with some students requiring additional behavioral support. You'll have the flexibility to set your own consistent three-day-per-week schedule, enabling a balanced work-life routine—the school day runs from 7:40 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. What it takes to thrive in this role: Current Michigan SSW 310 approval or preliminary approval (required) Experience or training in school-based social work, ideally at the middle-school level Calm, positive approach to managing students with challenging or aggressive behaviors Strong collaborative and communication skills to work with students, staff, and families Commitment to supporting social, emotional, and behavioral well-being What you'll be doing: Deliver social-emotional support and counseling to middle school students Develop and implement intervention strategies for students with behavioral needs Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and families to support student success Maintain documentation, progress notes, and compliance with school and district guidelines Receive support and guidance from a seasoned, full-time Social Worker on campus Immerse yourself in a rewarding, supportive school setting where you can build meaningful relationships and make a difference every day.
