Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding school-based contract opportunity providing vital support for students as a school social worker. This full-time role begins August 24th and runs through December 23rd as maternity leave coverage. You'll work closely with a manageable caseload of approximately 50 students, supporting their social, emotional, and academic development during a pivotal season in the school year. Your day begins at 7:15 AM and encompasses a standard 8-hour shift, allowing you to connect with students, collaborate with educators, and provide direct counseling and intervention. Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) required Valid state licensure or certification for school-based social work Previous experience working with school-aged children or adolescents is highly desired Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to develop and implement support plans tailored to individual student needs Empathy, cultural competence, and a collaborative mindset
Key Responsibilities:
Provide social, emotional, and behavioral support to a caseload of approximately 50 students Conduct individual and small group counseling sessions Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to create supportive learning environments Conduct assessments and facilitate crisis intervention as needed Assist with the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with school policies Experience the fulfillment of guiding students toward positive outcomes this fall.
