This contract opportunity is designed for a skilled and compassionate school social worker who is passionate about working with students in a transitional education alternative program. Youll play a vital role in helping students access resources, develop positive coping skills, and succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Qualifications:

Valid licensure as a School Social Worker in Minnesota Previous experience working with students in a school or educational setting, particularly in special education Strong understanding of social-emotional, behavioral, and academic support strategies for youth Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Role Responsibilities:

Provide direct social work services to students enrolled in the Transitional Education Service Alternative Program Conduct assessments, develop intervention strategies, and maintain documentation in accordance with IEP/504 plans Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and parents to support student success and respond to individual needs Facilitate group and individual counseling sessions focused on skill building, problem-solving, and social/emotional development Connect families with community resources, advocate for students, and participate in team meetings as needed Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal regulations regarding student welfare This position follows a Monday through Friday schedule, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., aligning with the school calendar for the 2026-2027 academic year.
